Meet Our Chief Programs Officer
Cas Torres
I come from the vibrant Northside of Chicago's Rogers Park Neighborhood, proud to be a first-generation Latina in my family of five. As the eldest sibling, I cherish the opportunity to be a role model, drawing inspiration from the invaluable lessons instilled by my parents. They emphasized the importance of seizing the privilege of education without complacency.
Earning a B.A. in Communications from Bradley University, I actively engaged with my Latinx community, assuming leadership roles within various organizations, including The Association of Latino Professionals for America, The Association of Latin American Students, the Latinx Caucus, and The Office of Diversity & Inclusion. As a first-generation Latina, I'm driven by an unyielding pursuit of opportunities, constantly asking myself, "What's next?"—a mindset ingrained in me from childhood. During my college years, I seized three diverse internship opportunities spanning Education, Health & Science, and Government/Non-Profit sectors.
My commitment to Serving People with a Mission (SPM) aligns with my passion for fostering change and nurturing young leaders within our communities. I endeavor to inspire and guide youth, helping them uncover their passions and lead with unwavering courage. By championing leadership development across diverse backgrounds, I am optimistic that our generation will make a significant impact in our communities.
